Youpi-Martinique supports the "Rêve à Perte de Vue" adventure

Born with congenital cataracts and suffering from glaucoma, Joël Paris has never let his visual impairment hinder his passion for sailing. An experienced sailor, he has already entered several major races: a record between Marseille and Carthage in 2020 with a disabled crew, then participation in the Transat Jacques Vabre 2023 .

A visionary and unifying force, Joël created the Rêve à Perte de Vue association in 2016, a unique crew made up of visually impaired sailors. His goal: to break down prejudices about disability, prove that anything is possible and raise awareness among the general public through international competitions .

The next challenge is a big one: on October 26, 2025, the crew will set sail in the prestigious Transat Café L'Or, linking Le Havre to Martinique. An extraordinary human and sporting adventure, marked by courage, self-improvement, and solidarity.

Youpi-Martinique is proud to support this inspiring team and invites everyone to follow and support their journey.

Together, let's celebrate their arrival in Martinique and uphold the values of sailing : passion, inclusion, and determination. Join us at the finish line to share the emotion of a dream come true. May this crossing be a source of inspiration for all those who dare to believe in their projects and sail into the unknown.

Learn more about the association

Rêve à Perte de Vue is a non-profit association under the French law of 1901, led by Joel Paris , a visually impaired skipper who has often been told: " No, it's not possible for you. " Created in 2016, Rêve à Perte de Vue is also a unique crew in ocean racing, a crew based on visual impairment. Alongside Joel Paris, Goulven Marie , an experienced sailor and high-level athlete, joined him after competing against him in the CIC Med Channel Race .

Our goal : to break down prejudices about disability and raise awareness among the general public by participating in high-profile races.
